Two leaders reimagining generosity

Nathan Chappell is Chief AI Officer at Virtuous, the first role of its kind in the nonprofit sector, and the founder of Fundraising.AI, a global collaborative of more than 30,000 members across 110 countries dedicated to responsible AI for fundraising. His machine learning research into what actually predicts giving earned U.S. patents for gratitude prediction and helped establish the field of predictive fundraising.

That research was forged over two decades in nonprofit leadership, including senior roles at City of Hope and UC San Diego, where he witnessed the birth of precision medicine, the idea that became N1. An award-winning author and keynote speaker at conferences worldwide, Nathan writes on responsible innovation, the future of generosity, and the power of radical connection in the age of AI. N1 Philanthropy is his third book, following The Generosity Crisis and Nonprofit AI. He lives on a small farm outside Nashville, Tennessee, with his family, their Labrador retriever, and eight chickens.
